I came to photography after college, after a 10-year stint as a professional actor. Prior to acting, my whole world was athletics. So much of my photography is informed by these two early passions.

Photography started as a class gifted to me from my wife. I still remember the thrill of capturing my first “real picture.” That excitement remains with me to this day each time I capture an epic image.

Swimming competitively as a kid and in college was the first thing I really sank my teeth into. Today, I am the happiest when photographing a world class athlete doing their thing. Capturing an insane angle from the ground or the water. Bringing my unique perspective to their mental and physical grit and their passion for sport.

With my history as an actor, I am able to very quickly connect with a subject; to understand the roadmap to capturing something authentic. Bypass the bullshit.

Big sets are fun, and so are smaller, more intimate shoots The drive is still the same. Keep searching. Keep digging beneath what is in front of me to find what’s real. I pride myself on delivering exactly what the client asks for, while also surprising them with something unexpected, something that builds on the original idea and perhaps even elevating it.
